Can I put videos and images together into one portfolio?
I have both video and photographic documentation of a project and want to put all of this together into one portfolio rather than have the video just be in the video section and the images in the portfolios. Is this possible? Many thanks!

I’m
happy to help
We can place Vimeo pages under your INFO menu or grouped along with other info pages (i.e. bio, contact), but they cannot appear under the same drop menu as your still image portfolios.
It is not currently possible to place video pages between still images, although this is a great idea and one that our product development team is considering for future software updates.
In the meantime, your best option is to showcase your video and still photography work in separate menus -- perhaps you can reference some of your video work inside the portfolios by creating jpeg pages in Photoshop that include text descriptions or summaries of the larger project. -

Wow, fast reply, Will. Thanks for the info. Do you have any ideas about the best way to make it understood that some images and videos are all part of the same project? (I guess other than just titling them the same...)

Sorry Anna, I'd added some info to my initial response -

Great idea, Will. I'd LOVE to see the portfolio options expanded to be able to include Vimeo videos, too! In this multimedia/interdisciplinary world, I'm sure that it's becoming increasingly prevalent for a single project to include content across media. Keep me updated on how this might progress on future updates, and I'm glad to hear that this idea might be in development already. Thanks for the reply!

What about creating a link in the portfolios that would say something like "See video documentation of this project" or the other way around, a link in the video section that would say "see still images from this project" that would take you directly to the corresponding video page in the website? That way navigation is automatic and the visitor to the website doesn't get confused. Am I not giving the website visitor enough credit? Perhaps.
If I wrote my own html, can I put in a link myself? -

You're able to set up links to external URLs via the image info (title/caption) area for each of your portfolio images. For more info on this process please see 'How do I add hyperlinks within title and caption (image info) information ?'
However, this would require that you link away from your liveBooks site and to another URL (like Vimeo), which is a less cohesive presentation. Since liveBooks sites are built in Flash, you won't be able to incorporate html coding into your pages -- your portfolio images must be in jpeg format in order to display correctly online.- view 2 more comments

Thanks for that! Obviously a contentious issue and one that will continue to evolve in the very near future with Steve Jobs being so against Flash. I'll post another reply when I've worked on your jpeg text idea to let you know how it goes.

I want to jump on board with the idea of a way to show a video that accompanies a still image but be stay navigationally friendly. Many photographers are now doing both and there just needs to be a better way to show both together.
