    indifferent I’m undecided
    Hi,

I'm just considering to switch to livebooks but first off I'd like to get a better idea of just how much control we have over our SEO... I see clearly listed that there's SEO support, but no further details.

    for example:
Can we create tags for images or texts so they're searchable keywords?
Can we tweak URLs to include more keywords?
    ...

I'm far from an SEO pro, but working on my own website has given me a lot of liberty with tweaking and editing for SEO purposes... just wondering how much I can do with LiveBooks.

    Thanks!!
    Phil

View our tutorial on using the Search Engine Optimization module here:

    http://livebooks.com/support/video-tu...

    And read the tips below:

Your liveBooks editSuite gives you control over reaching your search term goals by allowing you to create and edit searchable html content that resides below the Flash face of your site. Please read through the items listed below for suggestions on how to enhance your existing site utilizing the optimization tools that are already included.

    1) Create a keyword strategy -
Before diving into your site it is important to prioritize which terms and phrases are pertinent to your business and effective enough to begin driving traffic to your site. The word 'photographer' is popular and highly competitive but combined with other refining terms related to your unique style, location, medium, or subject matter you will have more effective search phrases.

    2) Main website search info -
To begin optimizing your liveBooks site for search, log into your editSuite and access the Search Engine Optimization module found under the Resources tab. Within this module you have the ability to edit the highest level searchable content on your website beginning with the title, description, and keywords.

Title - Your website title appears both at the top of the browser window when your site is viewed as well as in the header for search results for you website. Your website title should be very concise, focussing on the most important of your key terms.

Description - This field allows you more room to elaborate on information about yourself and business. As a general guideline your description can range from a few words to a few sentences but should be coherent and focussed.

Keywords - Keywords in this area are considered to have less importance to modern search engines. The keyword field should be used for common misspellings, any terms that were not included in your title and description and should be limited to 160 words or less.

    * As a best practice we suggest a length of 70 characters for title, 170 characters for description, and generally 5-7 keywords be used.

    3) Submit your site to search engines -
Within the Search Engine Optimization module we have built in links to submission pages for all major search engines. Simply click the link and follow the instructions on each respective page. Although this step is not necessary it allows you to directly inform search engines of your websites existence.

    4) Search landing page -
In the latest release we have added a specialized HTML page specifically aimed at helping you target rankings for specific keywords. The search landing page differs from the HTML ghost site in that it can be found and viewed through search engine results. Control of the content displayed on this page is accessed under the second tab at the top of the Search Engine Optimization module. The fields here can be filled out with redundant information from the primary search info, used to diversify with more narrow terms, or focus on secondary facets of your business.

    5) Portfolio naming -
The names of your portfolios are reflected in the URLs of the HTML ghost site that the search engines crawl and index. It is important to consider how these names relate to the keywords you would like to have associated with your site. Portfolios with names such as portfolio1, portfolio2 are less likely to help you versus more specific titles such as still photography, portrait photos, etc.

    6) Image naming and info -
Similarly, proper image naming can only help add pertinent search content to your site. Images with file names such as DSC001.jpg, DSC002.jpg miss a huge opportunity to present data to the search engines. Through your editSuite you have the ability to upload images with meta-data intact as well as add image titles, descriptions, and keywords through the 'edit' button found in the lightbox module.

    7) Drive traffic -
Now that your site has been optimized for search the next step is to begin driving traffic through marketing, promoting, and linking efforts. One powerful and free way to drive traffic is to become active in online communities and blogs. Creating your own or posting on other blogs and planting links to your site can help drive traffic and increase awareness.

The above may take a little work but changes immediately alter the HTML that is displayed to search engines giving you a great opportunity improve your search ranking. Please keep in mind that it is impossible to control what sections of information on your site any search engine may serve up for specific searches at any given time or to predict when a site will be ranked and how often it will be revisited but there are a few things you can do to hopefully effect this.

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to create more traffic to my site. I have created some objects that I would like to sell, but besides the already mentioned options (search option opt) I was wondering if there is any other alternatives?

I have to explain some of SEO tips's .

    5 Quick SEO Tips .

1.. If you absolutely MUST use Java script drop down menus, image maps or image links, be sure to put text links somewhere on the page for the spiders to follow.

    2. Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that will focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase.

    3. If content is king, then links are queen. Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link. Remember, if there is no good, logical reason for that site to link to you, you don’t want the link.

    4. Don’t be obsessed with PageRank. It is just one isty bitsy part of the ranking algorithm. A site with lower PR can actually outrank one with a higher PR.

    5. Be sure you have a unique, keyword focused Title tag on every page of your site. And, if you MUST have the name of your company in it, put it at the end. Unless you are a major brand name that is a household name, your business name will probably get few searches.

    Thank you !!!!
