Hello all,
Below you will find detailed and valuable information about managing SPAM emails.
Feel free to share other tips and tricks that worked for you!
The first thing you have to do is to add the email addresses or domains of those sending you spam emails to your blocked senders list. (See instructions for that below.)
Also you have to check the the setting on Spam Shield. (Instructions Below) This should stop most of the spam. If there is still some spam coming in you should set up some inbound email rules to block that. (Instructions Below)
The final thing a user can do to minimize getting spam is to not use the email address to sign up for unverified services on the Internet. Most places that take your email address when you sign up for something, will add your address to a list. They then often sell that list to other companies and to spammers. We recommend using a secondary free account from one of the numerous free providers when signing up for various services on the Internet.
Only use your main account for contacting people you trust not to pass your address on. Also publicly posting your email address on sites like Facebook, or forums, or comment sections on blogs will increase the likelihoods of getting spam exponentially, since it makes the address easier for the spammer to harvest.
How To Add An Email Address/Domain To The Blocked Senders List:
1) Log into account
2) Click on Options
3) Click on SpamShield Pro
4) Make sure the box to Enable SpamShield Pro is checked
5) Scroll down to the Blocked Senders
6) Type in the email address or domain to be blocked
7) Click on Block
8) Repeat as needed.
9) Click on Save
How to properly delete SPAM emails:
1) Select the unwanted messages in your inbox
2) Click on the Spam on the menu above. This will delete the message from your Inbox and report it to the Spam and Abuse department
The more Spam you mark, the better the system will get at weeding out those annoying messages. Be careful when marking emails as Spam so you don't end up blocking emails you do want!
* If you find a message wrongly classified as Spam, you can un-mark the message:
1) Go to your Spam folder.
2) Locate the email that was incorrectly marked as Spam.
3) Right click on the email and choose Approve Sender.
How To Check The Setting For SpamShield Pro:
1) Log into account
2) Click on Options
3) Click on SpamShield Pro
4) Make sure the box to Enable SpamShield Pro is checked
5) Under Sensitivity adjust the setting. Remember the lower the setting the more restrictive the filter will be. So a lower setting is preferred if you are receiving a lot of spam.
2.5 is the default setting.
6) Click on Save
Setting Up Email Rules For Inbound Mail:
1) Log into account
2) Click on Options
3) Click on Email Rules
4) Click on New Rule
5) Select criteria for rule (dependent on what you are trying to block)
6) Add conditions as needed
7) Add another action as needed to perform a desired action on messages that trigger the rule. (Tell the system what to do with the message)
8) Click on Save

How do I "approve" an email address to be allowed in my inbox. I have a form for a contest in facebook where the entries are supposed to come to my webmail but they aren't appearing in either my inbox or Spam.. The Form provider through tests say the form is working. Can webmail block an email without me ever even seeing it in spam? please help

Hi. Thank you for the quick response. The trouble is I'm not even getting them in my Spam to approve. I don't see them at all , yet Tabsite (the form provider) is adamant that the form is working and the email is being blocked. I don't see anywhere to "pre-approve an address". I'm confused that I wouldn't even see the email come in. Please advise :O)

David,
You need to go into your webmail options section and then into Spam Shield Pro. Then you can add the address from which you want to receive messages under the Approved Senders section. You don't need an actual email in your Inbox from that address in order to be able to add in the Approved Senders list. Spam Shield won't block or affect in any way addresses that are added in the approved list. -

Krister,
In the post above you can see what you can do to protect yourself from Spam messages. If all the spam emails that you receive are coming from the same email address you have the option of blocking that address completely. If you need further assistance please contact our Support team.
Thank you! -

For the past few months, I have been too getting many SPAM emails which are coming from France, Russia or another country other than the US. They are totally composed in a language other than English. Isn't it possible to allow users to add a filter which blocks these types of emails?

Too much Spam in languages other than English..-
Hello Jake,
Your email address was probably added to some spam mailing lists. What you can do now, is to follow the above instructions and add the domains that you receive spam emails from to the blocked list and you can also set up email rules to block emails with certain subject lines. Thank you! -
