If your site is live and liveBooks is hosting your email, you can set up your email account(s) in an email application such as Apple Mail, Microsoft Entourage or Microsoft Outlook.
IMAP Email Setup
**All devices will need to be setup as IMAP accounts, e.g. computer, laptop, iPhone**
Account ID/Username: Your Full Email Address

Incoming IMAP server or hostname: imap.everyone.net
Authentication: Password (enter your email/password)
SSL: Off
Port: 143
Outgoing SMTP server or hostname: smtp.everyone.net
Authentication: Password (enter your email/password)
SSL: Off
Port: 25 or 2525 (some ISP's block port 25)
Please see the separate question for information about setting up email on your iPhone.
For other mobile devices, you can refer to the settings above, but please contact the customer support for your mobile carrier or device manufacturer if you have questions.
POP Email Setup

Hi Bret & Will,
When I went live yesterday, I didn't want to use livebooks for email for my website but I'm having doubts and was wondering if there was a chance that I can actually get that option.-
Imeh, please contact the Support Team directly and we'll be happy to make the necessary adjustments to set up mailboxes @yourdomain.com on our servers.

I am still having issues with it even though I changed the out going port to 2525. Any suggestions?
-
I'm assuming that you're experiencing issues with outgoing mail -- are you able to receive mail without any issue? I suggest checking to be sure your authentication is set to 'password' and then deleting/re-typing both your username (full email address) and the password for the outgoing server.

Thank you so much! You were correct, I had to retype the user name and password.

Hello,
I recently got the droid, and am trying to get my email to sync through it, but am unable. I used the settings for imap described above, but nothing seems to work, are there any other options I could try? Thank you!
Jennifer Mooney
Www.jennifermooney.com-
Jennifer, you should be able to use the IMAP server settings listed above when setting up email on your Android phone. I recommend double-checking to be sure you're using your FULL email address whenever you're prompted to enter a username, and that you've typed your password correctly -- any extra spaces can trigger an error when the phone attempts to connect to the email server.
If you're still having trouble, you might try using the server settings that are normally reserved for the iPhone: How do I set up email on my iPhone?
If that doesn't work, you may need to contact the customer support for your mobile carrier or device manufacturer if you have further questions. -

Hello Will,
I tried many different things, deleting the account and starting all over again. I even tried the iphone settings. Nothing worked.
I noticed on the iphone forum that a guy mentioned his current settings were with POP account, which is what mine is, with outlook express. Would that effect anything?
Thank you,
Jennifer-
It shouldn't matter whether you have other instances of IMAP (or POP) setups on your computer or any other devices -- the server settings should work for each device.
At this point you may try contacting the customer support for your mobile carrier, who should be able to assist with any specific settings necessary to connect via POP or IMAP using your Droid. You can provide them with the iPhone (mobile) IMAP settings first, and if this doesn't work then I'd recommend trying the normal IMAP server settings listed in this thread. -

So I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird and have everything set up, but if I select SSL to be turned off is says the password is getting transmitted insecurely. Obviously it won't receive or transmit emails if I select SSL or STARTTLS. I really don't want to be using my email in a manner where either the password or anything else could be taken!
Thanks!

How do I access my live books hosted emails?
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Setup for hosted email.-
You can also access your liveBooks email accounts using webmail. The best way to remember your Web Mail address is to replace the "www" in your website's URL with the word "webmail" so it should read: http://webmail.[your-domain]

I am currently using Entourage 2008 to handle my email on all of my Macs. I have not have an issue with sending or recovering emails in the past few days, with or without attachments. Today however it is connecting and receiving messages just fine but for some reason it is not seeming to want to connect to the smtp.everyone.net server to send my mail. I have tried reentering my username and password to no avail.. I don't know if there is a maintenance or something going on with the server right now or if there is anything else I can try, help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm unable to send/receive email from my Entourage account. I've checked my settings and password, and everything seems to be right.
Whenever I click Send/Receive, I get the following message:
"The server for account 'John Hafner Photo' returned the error 'Invalid username or password.' Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect ..."
I can receive email through my Webmail account, but not Entourage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
John Hafner

my email is down
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
my email has been down since yesterday can anyone explain why?.-
Zak,
I checked all your email DNS records and everything is set up correctly on our end. Your email service is active and should be working properly.
Please check your email application configuration and make sure your settings are correct. Sometimes software updates can modify your email application and this results in your account not working any more.
The best way of checking if your settings are the issue is to log into your webmail service and send a test email from there. Your webmail address is: webmail.yourdomain.com.
If you are still having issues please contact the Support Team and a specialist will help you. Any details about what is happening (error messages, print screens, etc.) will help us determine what the issue is. -

For some reason I was able to do this easily for 1 account but not for another. It's asking me for...How do I know what my "server" and "port" and "security type" is and wonder why it didn't ask me for the other email. When I try to start again it says "email is already provisioned" and keeps saying it can't go through. I have been looking online and trying for hours. Does anyone have any ideas???
Thanks so much!
Cory

Cory,
You can see the email setup setting in this forum post. The security type must be set to password, and you have the port number and server name above.
If you are still having trouble setting this up please contact our Support team for further assistance. -

I've setup my imap account in Mail according to the mail I've received after my site went live. I'm able to receive mails, but when I'm sending mails I get an error message (smtp is not responding).
I'm using smtp.everyone.net with SSL set to off. Any advice?
Thanks!

Turning SSL to "ON" helped in my case with problems sending mails from my domain via smtp.everyone.net
